Our Director
Balance Pilates & Yoga Center has been individually owned and operated
and part of the Bradenton community for more than 15 years!

Balance Pilates is individually owned and operated by Connie Borho. Our space is a welcoming, friendly, boutique-style studio with an energetic, yet soothing environment. We encourage meeting goals, yet staying within reach of comfort zones; we empower our students and clients to push themselves when they need to, yet pamper themselves when they want to! We truly embody and promote the yin and yang of fitness and life!
Balance Pilates is committed to teaching mind/body fitness as an integral part of a healthy wellness plan. We coach healthy movement and proper alignment to ensure that each workout is safe, effective, and fun! We make sure that each and every client receives a well-thought out, well-executed individualized exercise plan that will help to achieve health and wellness.
The Pilates Method of exercises focuses on building a healthy, injury-free body by encouraging controlled and concentrated movements. Developed by Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a conditioning routine that improves muscle control, flexibility, coordination, strength and stamina. At Balance Pilates we emphasize the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness, to support efficient, healthy movement. Where necessary, modification or progression is intelligently constructed and applied to make every workout safe and challenging for any person at any age or fitness level.

Connie has over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, specializing in programming, management, and teaching for special populations and mind-body fitness.
Connie has been teaching and practicing Pilates for over 30 years. Through personal experience, she found that Pilates was the best kind of therapy for a back injury she had been dealing with for years. After rehabbing her injury, she continued practicing Pilates and found that she was stronger, leaner and had greater flexibility than ever before. As a result, she committed herself to learning how to bring this movement modality to others. Her first certification was through the PhysicalMind Institute in New York City, continued her education through Peak Pilates of Boulder, Colorado, is a certified Second Generation Lolita San Miguel Pilates Master Teacher, and is a Kathy Grant Heritage Training Graduate. Connie continues to learn new techniques and modalities through continuing education.
In her New York studio, and later in her studios in Florida, Connie has successfully trained a broad-spectrum of clients. While working with chiropractors, physical therapists, and athletic trainers she has gained extensive experience in both post-rehab training and training for elite athletes. She has specialty certification and expertise in Pre/Post Natal exercise, and has worked with OB/GYNs to physically prepare mothers for birth and beyond. Connie's passion for and expertise in mind/body fitness have helped hundreds of students develop healthier lifestyles and stronger, more efficient, bodies.

She has studied the Astanga Yoga tradition extensively with Beryl Bender Birch, author of Power Yoga and Beyond Power Yoga. A certified Astanga Power Yoga teacher, Connie also studied the Anusara methodology of yoga with Todd Norian, completing an arduous 400-hour teacher training.
